Biggest Wedding of the Year 2016

As we draw to the end of another year its always a good time to reflect…. and this year like many others has been filled with many happy memories and many happy weddings! Met lots of awesome couples who I got to be a part of their special days and got to do lots of awesome things.  One in particular comes to mind and it was the lovely couple Jags & Maddison. It was my biggest wedding this year and Jags had so many amazing ideas to make their day stand out in a crowd it was an absolute pleasure being able to help! Together we created this outstanding bookcase display where they said their vows and later sat at during the wedding breakfast…..a stunning focal point I think you will agree 😉

The bookcases were up on a stage provided by the venue (Hilton at the Ageas Bowl) each shelf had either floating candles or flowers in, the bright light in the centre is a chandelier the floral decoration was provided by the very talented mother of the bride 🙂  it looked incredible……even better lit up……

The chairs were decorated in simple but effective white satin as the whole room was lit with all sorts of up lighters and rigging. Lovely bay trees decorated the aisle alongside the grand red carpet. Later in the day there was a magic mirror photo booth, magician, MR & MRS A light up letter, videography and the most amazing cake and stand you may ever have seen…….WOW!

It was such a pleasure being a part of it all 🙂 there were over 500 chairs covered and 50 tables decorated it looked fantastic. So I wish you all the best Mr and Mrs A 🙂 and thank you for letting me be involved x

I cannot wait for 2017 and all the exciting things it may bring 🙂  I am very much enjoying being a recommended supplier to the historic Southsea Castle and the lovely Queens Hotel. The Southampton Guildhall and the incredible Sanjha catering/restaurants which have allowed me be a part of some wonderful Asian weddings and ceremonies which I would not normally have the opportunity to be involved with. And also all the current bookings next year all over the place 🙂 Merry Christmas and a Very Happy New Year 🙂

Worst Blogger Ever!

Good Morning World! Im the worst blogger ever! Its only because Ive been busy which is no excuse! But it means I have some lovely new pictures to share 🙂  We have recently had the pleasure of some new venues we haven’t yet seen such as this little beauty below 🙂 The Reading Rooms in Southampton. The couple and all their family really went all out in dressing up this hall and the result is absolutely amazing! they even covered all the radiators in hessian and notice boards too to really finish the room off. Each individual guest had a hessian and lace place mat too! Love it!

Another hidden gem I didnt even know about is Hambledon Vineyards in… well hambledon! A beautiful marque set in acres of land It really had a great feel to it….. the brides went to town with martini vases full of champagne corks, I love the navy blue linen with the top table fairy lights we provided.

I also had  a lovely couple having a blessing and reception in a marquee actually in a family members garden which is fantastic and just goes to show there really are no limits to what you can achieve….

So that sums up some of my latest adventures 🙂 there will be more soon… Thanks for reading!

Botleigh Grange Hotel and Spa

Hello Hello!  Recently I had the pleasure of dressing the wedding of Jenny & Kevin who got married at the Botleigh Grange Hotel & Spa in Southampton. I have visited a few times in the past but this was my first wedding there. I was really looking forward to it and it looked great when we had finished.  Jenny had spent a lot of time on all the little details. She was so organised! Her lovely mum did all the flower centerpieces with china cake stands and beautiful fresh flowers. They looked fantastic!

There were flowers in the backs of the chair sashes which were Ivory Satin

There was also my light curtain backdrop, I made the table plan and place names, table numbers in frames, there were fairy lights, my Post Box, some last minute added pom poms Jenny’s mum had organised with me without Jenny knowing as a little surprise 🙂 All in all one of my favourite weddings this year so far.  There is a few other exciting things coming up…. I have been invited to exhibit at Tuppenny Barn, Emsworth when they have their open day on the 8th May 2016. I will be setting up and my lovely mum will be on hand to answer any questions.  On the same day there is an open day at Southsea Castle. As their recommended supplier for venue decor I will be decorating the Keep and the Marquee for all visitors to come and see 🙂 Well worth a look if you haven’t got your venue organised yet x  Also very sad and annoyed to hear that a local florist whom I have met many times over the last year has closed her business leaving lots of brides out of pocket! I feel angry as this is what happens when company’s undercharge for their services just to get the work and then later realise hey cant afford to keep going. There is a reason why things cost what they do. So if something seems too good to be true lets face it…. it usually is. I hope the brides out there that have booked soon find out before its too late 🙁 Thanks for ready 🙂  Until next time!

NEW Ribbon Backdrop

Good Evening All! Welcome to the world of Everything But The Dress. Recently we attended an Open Day at The Queens Hotel, Southsea. As their recommended supplier I dressed the Elizabeth Room for a wedding ceremony (with gorgeous hessian) and also an evening reception and  the lobby too with chair covers and a centrepiece. Open days are always a great opportunity to check out a venue if you haven’t got one in mind yet 🙂

Last Saturday I had a booking at Roko Gym in Copnor Road, Portsmouth. Did you know you can hire their cafe area as function suit? It even has its own bar! The only downside for some couples is the large viewing window which looks into the swimming pool. But dont worry – our backdrop is the perfect size to cover it! See…..

Lastly I also exhibited at the beautiful Stansted House in Rowlands Castle for a great wedding fayre…. the sun was shining it was a gorgeous day! Met lots of lovely couples and got to enjoy the grounds too! I also added an extra touch to my backdrop…Hundreds of meters of pastel ribbons to add some colour… what do you think?

Wedding season is now in full swing so will soon be posting lots more pics of up coming events, I look forward to sharing them! Thanks for Reading!

A little bit about the company who hired us… Vespasian Security Ltd ( I feel this is relevant as Its so important these days to support your local businesses, especially when they are trusted and reliable and provide a quality service.
